Steve Radice | Village of Oak Lawn, IL

Director of Economic Development

As Director of Economic Development for the Village of Oak Lawn, one of my primary responsibilities is to insure we have as few vacant storefronts as possible. Because of the density of our village “and surrounding communities” Oak Lawn is home to some of the best performing restaurants in the entire Chicago-Land area. Our village staff takes pride in working hand-in-hand with potential new business owners to walk them through the process of attaining building permits, business licenses, fire & safety requirements and signage regulations.

COMMUNITY of OPPORTUNITY ~ Oak Lawn is a community with a distinctive “home town” atmosphere. It is a place where people really get to know their neighbors. Oak Lawn an abundance of parks and recreation facilities; a great school district along with well-kept residential streets demonstrates the pride we take in our neighborhoods.

Visiting our village, one could easily forget that this beautiful, peaceful suburban community is home to the largest Hospital / Trauma Center in the Midwest {Advocate Christ Medical Center} with over 6,000 employees, and only minutes away from Midway Airport and I-294 expressway.

Oak Lawn is very family-oriented as demonstrated by the many village sponsored events such as Fall-on-the-Green, Farmer’s Markets, Movie Nights and “Shop Oak Lawn” promotions. A strong village Chamber of Commerce, low crime rates, a Class One fire rescue department, and solid infrastructure contribute to an environment where businesses thrive.
